Wedding Day Beauty Prep

Ashton on her wedding day.I was recently asked what my most memorable moment of 2015 was. That was a no-brainer for me! Of course my favorite memory was walking down the aisle to marry my best friend! I will never forget the look on his face and seeing smiles and happy tears on the faces of my family, friends and loved ones. It was a sunny fall day, my dress fit like it was made just for me, the decorations were exactly how I had imagined, and I felt confident and beautiful.

All of this didn’t come together overnight though. This involved many, many months of planning – multiple road trips to antique shops to hunt for unique, vintage decor (and yes, I dragged my poor husband along with me every time), emptying the shelves of Hobby Lobby out of anything and everything in the right shades of teal and gold, trying on countless white wedding gowns, checking the future forecast multiple times a day for a month prior to the big day, and let’s not even talk about all the pre-wedding workouts and diets I tried and failed. With all of the stresses of wedding planning, I am so glad I had the help of the wonderful esthetics team here at JCMG LVC to make my skin care routine simple and effective.

Six months prior to my wedding, I started with a VISIA Analysis and consultation with Kim. The VISIA identified what condition all the layers of my skin were in and helped to determine a treatment plan just right for me. Kim jump-started me on a plan that would have my skin healthy and glowing before my big day.

My treatment consisted of several products to use routinely – TNS Recovery serum twice daily, Lytera brightening serum twice daily, Retinol .25 every evening, and Ultra Sheer moisturizer twice daily. Kim also recommended a series of peels for me. I started with the Vitalize peel and finished with an Illuminize peel. And last but not least, we can’t forget about Latisse! My favorite product! I followed this routine religiously and my skin has never looked or felt better. My pore size has decreased, I have fewer blackheads than ever before (something I have always struggled with), and my fine lines have diminished.

Now that my skin was in great shape, it was time to think about what makeup to use for the occasion. I knew I wanted something that would be long lasting. Colorescience products are what I went with. All of these products look and feel natural, and allow your skin to breathe – on top of lasting all day (even through all the happy tears)! I used Bronze Kiss Illuminating Serum, brightening primer, Girl From Ipanema pressed powder, and Clarifying Setting Mist as my base. With the help of Kelly RN, I was contoured to perfection (this makes all the difference in photography).

It’s Sunsational month again at Genesis! We are looking forward to and getting geared up for our 16th annual Sunsational Celebration Open House on May 18th. It’s hard to believe how many of these we have put on as a company. Every year we are so grateful to all who celebrate with us. This year also marks, for me, 16 years of being a client of Genesis. As some of you know, Dr. Prasad and Barb are my parents, so I was exposed to great skincare products and sun protection from a young age. As I have grown up, and when I began my career at Genesis eight years ago, I tried even more of the services and products we offer. I can’t say enough how much they have changed my life. Everything I have tried has been fabulous, from vein care and Biote Hormone Replacement to routine facials and Botox. At 31, I feel younger than I used to and feel more confident in my skin than ever before. I have grown up around a lot of my Genesis team, and we have added some newer faces as the years have passed. They are amazing! I feel privileged to work with such a solid and passionate group of people. I think this place is pretty magical and you can feel it when you come through our doors.
