My Experience at the SkinMedica Advocate Summit

I tend to be a spring and summertime girl, but I must say that this fall season has been absolutely perfect. I was definitely ready to bring out my jeans and sweaters, but dreaded the upcoming time change. This past weekend we took our annual fall boat ride to Ha-Ha-Tonka. We began the morning with sweatshirts and blankets, and by the end of the day we were melting in the 90 degree heat. Definitely the best of both summer and fall with the beautiful changing leaves and the warm sunny day. It is hard to believe that Halloween is this week.

One of my other fall favorites is the SkinMedica Advocate Summit. It is held in October in Carlsbad, California, and this is the fourth year that Kim and I have had the honor of attending. The Summit is held for the top accounts in the nation; we are with the best of the best, including highly accredited practices and teaching hospitals. We are so privileged to have such wonderful clients in our smaller market to make this possible. I am so proud to tell people that we are from a small midwestern town when I am meeting accounts from huge markets like New York, Dallas and Boston.

The Advocate Summit is four days spent with our peers, learning best practices, and meeting with the scientists, the president and top executives of the company. This photo is myself with John Garruto, Vice President of Formulation and Development, as well as the scientist that formulated TNS with Dr. Fitzpatrick. In our “skin world” this is like going to the Academy Awards, meeting all of the amazing people that make this brand so fantastic. Not only do we get to learn what is happening with products and marketing, but our input is valued and we get to share our ideas. SkinMedica cares about what the consumer wants.

SkinMedica has the most innovative science behind everything that has their brand on it. Last year we were able to tour the laboratory and assist in formulating a batch of TNS Eye Repair, an amazing experience. I have been in medical skin care for over 10 years and have sold other skin care lines, but SkinMedica by far has my loyalty as a consumer, as well as an esthetician. I could go on and on about what a wonderful experience the Advocate Summit is, not to mention how much I have grown to love southern California. I am so thankful and proud to offer our clients the best of the best and to share our continuing education in this growing field. Attending this event every year reignites my passion for what I do and what we offer at the Laser & Vein Center.

I hope if you are already a client that we give you this same feeling when you come in to visit us. We love what we do, and it is most certainly our passion. I hope that if you are not a skin care client that you may give us a chance to share this with you. I promise we can make you a believer. There is no better time to begin than now!

Our Sweet 16

It’s Sunsational month again at Genesis! We are looking forward to and getting geared up for our 16th annual Sunsational Celebration Open House on May 18th. It’s hard to believe how many of these we have put on as a company. Every year we are so grateful to all who celebrate with us. This year also marks, for me, 16 years of being a client of Genesis. As some of you know, Dr. Prasad and Barb are my parents, so I was exposed to great skincare products and sun protection from a young age. As I have grown up, and when I began my career at Genesis eight years ago, I tried even more of the services and products we offer. I can’t say enough how much they have changed my life. Everything I have tried has been fabulous, from vein care and Biote Hormone Replacement to routine facials and Botox. At 31, I feel younger than I used to and feel more confident in my skin than ever before. I have grown up around a lot of my Genesis team, and we have added some newer faces as the years have passed. They are amazing! I feel privileged to work with such a solid and passionate group of people. I think this place is pretty magical and you can feel it when you come through our doors.
