Spring is finally here. Flowers are in bloom, the weather is warming up, and it is almost shorts and swimsuit season. For me, this is the time that I stress that I should have been doing a few more squats and lunges this winter…
I really enjoy writing my blog every month; English and writing were always my favorite subjects in school. This month was so difficult for me: focusing on the one thing that I am the most self-conscious about and telling all of you. This really helped to remind me that everyone who comes in for a consultation goes through the same thing. Being our own worst critic seems to be innately inside every woman. We all have something that we are self-conscious about or that we would like improved. So here is one of mine, please be kind…
I have been blessed with cellulite since around the age of 15. I would like to thank my mother for that. Cellulite does not discriminate: no matter what size I am, it has always been there. It affects over 90{d855275bb5a53a691922ddbe09fd77e36a4f35d1f88aaf3bcf40ae4b44ffef7b} of the female population. Structural, genetic, hormonal, circulatory and inflammatory factors can all contribute to the development of cellulite. I really make a habit of maintaining a healthy diet and exercise regimen, but even that does not always get rid of that yucky bumpy stuff that I am so bothered by. VelaShape is a fantastic treatment to help in ways that diet and exercise cannot. It feels like a warm deep tissue massage, helping to smooth and tighten skin. The initial series is once a week for six weeks, and maintenance every six months will help keep your results. I combine my vela treatments with the Vi Body lotion. It has retinol, glycolic acid, and caffeine to promote blood flow and exfoliation. Drinking at least eight glasses of water each day also helps plump your skin and make it look thicker and more supple to camouflage cellulite.
Fighting against cellulite is a difficult and ongoing battle, but these tips have definitely helped me. Sometimes, just taking control of the thing that makes you feel the worst about yourself can make a huge difference. Spring is a time for renewal, and maybe VelaShape can help begin that renewal for you like it has for me!
