Here I am in my ninth month! No, I’m not talking about babies (granted they usually arrive in Mom’s ninth month), but rather the ninth month of writing about my experiences as a spokesperson for the JCMG Laser and Vein Center. The staff at L&V coddle me, spoil me, encourage me and play the doting parents – from reminding me of L&V appointments to checking in with me post-treatment.

You have to crawl before you can walk, and as a result of all the great products and services available at L&V, my crawling days are over. I’ve learned how to take care of my skin, turn back the clock by using SkinMedica skin care products and what to avoid. Many times we blame our age for unwanted fine lines, red spots and broken capillaries when, in fact, those same things are caused by not taking care of ourselves or by not knowing how to take care of our skin.

Mid-October, Kim repeated the eyebrow tinting and jazzed it up even further with a brow wax and eyelash tinting! I had no idea that eyelashes could be tinted! Very cool! I could actually leave the house without eyebrow pencil and mascara. The tinting is done with vegetable dye so no worry about chemicals near the eye. In preparation for Radiesse and Juvederm filler, Kim also did a dermaplaning facial to exfoliate and introduce high–grade ingredients to my exfoliated skin, all chemical free. So, my face felt fresh, “baby soft” and fuzz free after that. Did I mention that Kim spoils me?

As I write this, I am one day post filler of Radiesse and Juvederm. I am thrilled with the results. The procedure brings immediate gratification. I could immediately see the plumping of my skin on my cheeks and around my mouth. I won’t say that there is no discomfort because that would not be true; however, the numbing cream prior to the injections helped a lot. I spent the rest of the day using ice packs to alleviate the swelling. Other instructions are to stay out of the sun as much as possible for a week and not do too much exercise that makes one sweat. I also was asked to sleep on my back for the next three nights which I will certainly do. My face looks good one day out. I have a minimal amount of bruising on the outside, which primer, concealer and makeup covers, and some swelling that will go down soon enough. I’ve had filler before. It lasts 12–18 months. And, when I need it in the future, I will certainly do it again.

It’s been my privilege to share my L&V experiences with you for the past nine months. I feel as though I have been reborn and the last nine months have been leading up to this moment.
