We are proud to add a new charity to our line-up this year. We welcome the Halo Foundation to Jefferson City. The Halo Foundation was founded by a local Jefferson City native. Her concept was to raise money through art to support orphans throughout the world with support that includes art therapy. The Halo projects initially were all overseas. Currently they are expanding to the U.S., and we are fortunate to have one right here in Jefferson City. Through our local Halo, mentors and classes are being offered to youth in need. After opening their center on Clark back in the spring, Halo JC has partnered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the alternative high school, the MO Foster Care Association, Salvation Army, and other agencies to serve the needs of almost 50 teens and counting. Through Dream Journals, art therapy and other projects, we are seeing positive changes in these teens who are analyzing where they came from and what kind of future they can provide for themselves. We have amazing volunteers and teachers who have made life-changing connections with these youth who now have a support system where they never have before. With your help, we will continue to grow the center and the amount of children we can serve.
We are proud to be a sponsor for their upcoming Love ARTREACH Auction. The auction will raise money for the programs in Jefferson City. Save the date for March 8th at 6:30 at Capital Plaza and get ready to enjoy an evening of Art! For more information on this organization or to purchase tickets to the auction go to haloworldwide.org.
