If you’re looking for a small day trip, Hermann is only an hour drive from Jefferson City and has so much to offer during the summer months. Hermann is well known for its wineries, but it is also host to many outdoor live music festivities. Hermann’s Wine and Jazz Fest features artists from all over Missouri. Local vendors set up for food and drinks in the outdoor amphitheater with plenty of space to be socially distant while relaxing with the family and listening to fun music.

Hermann’s downtown area is full of beautiful stores, perfect for window shopping while taking a stroll around the town square. Make sure to stop off at Ricky’s Chocolate Box, Hermann’s delicious candy store, for some sweet treats for the ride home.

Staycation-ing in Missouri can also mean getting out into nature and away from the hustle and bustle. Echo Bluff State Park is located in Eminence and is one of my favorite places. The park sits right along the Current River which is part of the historic Osage Waterways. Echo Bluff offers amenities for any type of camper. From tent camping sites to beautiful cabins and lodges, anyone can create a little home away from home here. Around the park you will find playgrounds, river access for kayaking, swimming or fishing, gorgeous trails for hiking or biking, and even a restaurant in case you’re too tired from all your daily activities to cook. Echo Bluff is really a place where you are able to take in all the beauty Missouri has to offer.
