It happens all too often: wandering aimlessly through the skin care section at Target or Sephora, so many options… Should I just buy what’s on sale? This one has pretty packaging and it’s expensive so it must be good? Does any of it even work? Think of all the products that you have tried and given up on in two weeks feeling that nothing is ever going to make the change in your skin that you are looking for.
Instead of looking for a new skin care brand, look for a new consultation. I have the privilege of being one of our plan managers that help to guide you through this daunting process. Skin care and medical esthetic treatments are my passion and have been for the past 15 years. I have heard it all and do my absolute best to make sure that your consultation meets you where you are comfortable. My clients use shampoo on their face, own tanning beds, and don’t reapply their sunscreen… but we all must start somewhere. My job is to listen to your goals, educate you on your options, and make a plan that works within your budget and lifestyle. Small, simple changes can make a huge difference!
What to Expect in Your Skin Care Consultation
Communication is Key
We will start with an intake of what you are currently using on your skin and review what goals you are looking to achieve. I want to know if you are a tired mom of little kids that barely finds time to go to the bathroom and can’t fathom taking time for “steps” in a routine, or if you have tried it all and are ready for something that is going to make a meaningful change. There is help for both of you and it’s never too late.
The Picture Tells a Story
Next, I will cleanse your skin to prepare you for our VISIA photo analysis. This photo session will let us both have a very non-subjective look into what’s going on with your skin. The program will take your age and your skin type to assess everything from brown spots to red veins to wrinkles… it even gives a True Skin Age. Fun numbers to have, but the most important part of the photo session is that it’s documenting the beginning. Results take time and the photos are a great way to see that progress. It keeps you accountable for keeping up with your home care and keeps me accountable in that we are directing you towards seeing that desired improvement. So much fun!!
90-Day Plan Time
Like I mentioned earlier, results take time. We create a plan that will address the next 3 months for your home skin care regimen and services. 80{d855275bb5a53a691922ddbe09fd77e36a4f35d1f88aaf3bcf40ae4b44ffef7b} of your results come from your home regimen. It would be like going to the dentist and never brushing your teeth in between cleanings and expecting to have healthy white teeth. Your home skin care is everything.
The science behind SkinMedica products sets the bar high for results-driven skin care. With continued use the ingredients can make significant changes in any skin care concern. One of my favorite clients has only used skin care and Botox and has continued to see improvement over the past 10 years with her follow-up VISIA appointments.
Once we have discussed how your new products fit into your budget and lifestyle, I will review exactly how to use morning and night. Often this means making the most of what you have at home and adding the products that are going to benefit you the most. Next, we set a plan for your treatment options. We have so many great options from the facials to lasers to Botox/filler to cosmetic surgery, totally customized to how quickly you want to see the changes or if you are just looking for a little relaxation. Our providers are second to none; we have an excellent team and I will do my best to match you with someone that you adore.
